What you'll learn
Set up and get around TIA Portal
TIA Portal is Siemens' one software package for PLCs, HMIs, and PROFINET networks. You'll learn where everything lives.
Siemens vs. Rockwell hardware
How the S7-1200 and S7-1500 line up against CompactLogix and ControlLogix, so you can translate what you already know.
Build projects from scratch
Create devices, write ladder logic, test it in PLCSIM, and download to real hardware.
FBs, FCs, and DBs
Function Blocks, Functions, and Data Blocks. Think of them like the folders and files that organize a Siemens program. Most of TIA programming is built on them.
PROFINET networks
Configure networks with PLCs, HMIs, and I/O modules.
Monitor and troubleshoot
Go online, watch your logic run, track down problems, and keep versions of your projects.

TIA Portal is a heavy Windows install, and a license isn't cheap. The free trial only lasts 21 days, which isn't much time to learn a new platform.
So we give you a virtual desktop with TIA Portal already installed and licensed for your full 6 months. Think of it like renting a fully stocked shop instead of buying every tool yourself. Log in from your own computer and start working.
